DaCameron McAfee is the big man on campus. Standing 6’3 and 235 pounds, it is easy to stand out in school. When college scouts come to Stephen Decatur in Maryland, they are seeing not only his size but his dominant play on the field.
DaCameron developed the love of the game at an early age and has been playing football since he has been in elementary school. “I have been playing football since the age of 8 years old,” says DaCameron. “I began playing football because I loved how physical the game was on TV.”
DaCameron has a few goals he would like to accomplish in 2018. “I would like to be an all-state player,” he says. “But more importantly, I want to help my team win a state championship.” When asked about his support system and motivation, he points to his friends and family. He also looks deep within for motivation. “I have plenty of people, including friends and family who support me,” says DaCameron. “But at the end of the day I play for myself and my happiness so that drives me to become better.”
The athlete who inspires DaCameron is Ray Lewis. “Ray Lewis was a physical player," he says. “I loved how determined he was on and off the field and his passion for the game.” The Ravens are his favorite team and would be a dream to suit up for Baltimore. “The Ravens have been my favorite team since I can remember,” says DaCameron. “They are a defensive minded team and I appreciate their physical nature.” DaCameron has had a great off-season in the gym and at college showcases. He has been a standout in preseason camp and has shined on the field in scrimmages. We are looking for a big year from him and are happy to assist him in his recruiting journey.
