Athlete Spotlight
anthony thomson
I started playing football when I was 8 years old. I was always a bigger kid who got made fun of so I decide to start being more active. My primary position is safety and I also play wide receiver and nickel back. I had 2 interceptions, 54 tackles, 36 solo, 5 tackles for loss and 3 pass deflections in my sophomore year. I was invited to the Under Armour All-American camp as a safety
My personal goals this season are to have 6 or more Interceptions, 70 tackles and make 1st team region defensively. Offensively, my goals are 80 receptions for 900+ yards and 6 or more tds. My team goals are the playoffs for the first time in team history. I can adapt go play any position offensively or defensively. I am always willing to learn more about the game and I don’t need to be pushed to want to do better by others. I run track, competing in the 4x400, long jump, triple jump and open 400.
My coaches and teachers would describe me as a hard worker on and off the field. I always stay behind with the wideouts and get some extra work. In school, I go to tutoring during my lunch time. Doing well in the classroom is important to me. In my free time, I help with a program that buys presents for little kids and kids who can’t afford. I was in the program when I was younger. I received a Summit award in athletics for my school. It is given out 1 time a year to 1 person. I attend Paradise Community College for the Ace Program. I will Graduate high school with an associate’s degree.
I thank the Dream Scouting Network for highlighting my passion for the game. I will continue to work hard to show college coaches that I have the skills, heart and desire to make their team.
