Dear Prospective Coach: My name is Darren Verhage. I am a 6'3" 275lb Football Player. During my High School Career, I was blessed to start on both the defensive line since my freshman year. I earned Defensive player of the year my sophomore season. This year I have been selected for the Offense/Defense All American Bowl and the Dream All American Bowl. I am now the current leader in total tackles. I am also the overall strongest player on the team and one of the fastest and most explosive. During my Senior Season, I was asked to play H-Back in addition to DL, because of my team's need for an explosive hole puncher. We are currently undefeated in our 7A region and ranked #1. It is my desire to play DL or OL in College. My main attributes are my work ethic, strength, and desire to win. I love to hit on the field and I also love the weight room. I am a person that is strong in my faith and I am of good moral character. I know that I will make a good addition to the right School's football and overall community.
I was also selected as a member of the National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) and I am currently a member in good standing. My current GPA is 3.9 and I scored a 27 on the ACT.
