PERSONAL STATEMENT

My name is Colby Neron and my ultimate goal is to play college football at the highest level.
I am a student athlete enrolled at North Medford High School (class of 2021). I’m a member of student government, involved in my community, and also engaged as a multi-sport athlete. Freshman year, my personal best javelin throw placed in the top 10 nationally for my age group. Sophomore football season was split between JV-Varsity. Towards the end of the football season, the coaching staff moved me to the starting quarterback position. To reach my goal I am working diligently on and off the field by lifting weights, throwing, working on my footwork, and active with scholastic. Managing a 3.5+ GPA without compromising dedication to training is challenging but critical for exposure to collegiate athletic programs.
This last summer I was invited to participate in a statewide leadership conference through NMHS student government. The conference was very beneficial for public speaking, developing leadership skills, as well as how to become more active in my school and community. Leadership skills I gained last summer grew my confidence on and off the field. When I was moved up to varsity last season, these experiences really helped me grow as a team leader. Gaining the trust and respect of coaches and upper class-men has grown my confidence in preparation for my Senior Season
